Features

  • Versatile APS-C 18-135 millimeter lens, suitable for landscape, sports, wildlife, family portraits and more
  • A F3.5-5.6 aperture means images stay bright (even at telephoto range) and you can create stylish de-focused backgrounds
  • Image stabilization for sharp images, even when shooting at 7.5x magnification. It keeps motion looking smooth in your videos
  • Lightweight (325gram) and compact – despite a wide range of capabilities that mean you only need to carry one lens
  • Sony's advanced optical design keeps images bright and sharp with vibrant colours

Sony’s E-mount APS-C cameras are ideal for vlogging because they are fast, portable, take fantastic video, and are available at a variety of price points, so there should be one to suit every budget. The Sony E 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 lens was created expressly for use with these cameras (it will fit full-frame E-mount cameras like the Alpha 7s, but will cause them to automatically introduce a 1.5x crop).

It’s an excellent all-purpose or Vlogging lens, with a focal range that covers about everything a normal vlogger will require, from wide to mid-telephoto, as well as rapid autofocus and Optical SteadyShot image stabilization. This ticks a number of boxes, and because of its lightweight of 325g, it also works well with a lightweight mirrorless setup, making it ideal for run-and-gun photography.

If you’re searching for an option for the same amount, we’d recommend the Sony E 18-105mm F/4 PZ, which has a slightly decreased zoom range but a constant f/4 aperture and Power Zoom. If you intend to include a lot of zooming action in your vlogs, this is an excellent option.

  • Superb image quality high mtf performance (utilizing the camera body compensation)
  • The RXD stepping motor unit is exceptionally quiet
  • Moisture-resistant construction - fluorine coating
  • Versatile, exciting combination when paired with the 28-75mm F/2. 8 Di III RXD (Model A036)

The lens is light, sharp, and quick. Autofocus on the Sony A7C is nearly instantaneous and offers Eye / Animal Eye AF. The Model A046 has a huge F/2.8 aperture across the zoom range and gives great resolution and contrast from edge to edge. The combination of an ultra-wide-angle focal length, a big constant F/2.8 aperture, and a MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of 7.5 in. at the wide-angle end enables expressive and creative photography in a variety of situations.

I’ve used the Tamron 17-28mm F2.8 RXD f/2.8 f with my Sony a7C and appreciate how tiny and sharp it is. Even though it’s made of plastic, it has a luxury feel about it. It also performs admirably, and the AF drive system of the 17-28mm zoom is powered by the RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor unit, which enables it to deliver high-speed, high-precision, and superbly quiet operation, making it suitable for shooting virtually noise-free video as well as still photographs.

Environmental seals are installed at the lens mount area and other crucial points to prevent moisture and/or raindrop infiltration and provide Moisture-Resistant construction. This feature adds an extra layer of protection when shooting outside in inclement weather.

It lacks stability, but at that focal length, I don’t need it. It’s what I’ve been using for images and videos. This is an excellent Vlogging lens.

Aspherical, extra-low-dispersion, and low-dispersion lens elements are available, and a BBAR-G2 coating eliminates ghosting and flare.

Moisture-resistant design for usage in rainy weather and a fluorine coating on the front lens element to guard against dust, grime, and smearing. The same as its full-frame sibling, It lacks stability, but at that focal length, I don’t need it. It’s what I’ve been using for images and videos. This is an excellent Vlogging lens.
